Other suggestions about #harvest2013

Today we are going to bottle Villalta 2013 and Alfero 2013, children of a difficult year due to hail, rain and a tornado at the end of July.

To be honest, it is immensely satisfactory to have produced these wines in 2013 and twice as satisfactory as having produced them in “easy” years like 2012 and 2010.

In terms of freshness, fruit and drinkability, I would consider the 2013 vintages to be midway between 2002 and 2005.

Less structure and extraction, more finesse and elegance, with excellent future prospects due to a well-balanced and important acidic framework and more lactic acid.

I think this is the best Pinot Nero I’ve ever made. Nature is strange but full of surprises!
